Business support for startup and first time founders
Starting a business throws up a hundred questions at once. We help first time founders work out where to start, what to prove first, how to avoid wasting money and who to listen to.
Who this is for
You have an idea, maybe a prototype, perhaps your first few customers. Everyone has advice and most of it contradicts the last piece. You want a clear order of play, a straight answer about whether the idea holds up and someone who has seen this before.
The questions every first time founder is stuck on
Too much advice, no clear order
Brand, website, company number, funding, hiring: all urgent, none obviously first. Without an order, weeks vanish on the wrong things.
Building before anyone has asked
It is easy to spend months and savings on a product. Real customers saying yes, ideally with money, is the proof that matters most.
Money that disappears fast
Tools, freelancers and subscriptions add up quietly. Without a simple view of what is coming in and going out, the runway is shorter than it feels.
Knowing who to trust
Accelerators, advisers and agencies all want your attention, and some want equity or fees. As a first timer, it is hard to tell useful from persuasive.
A steady start, in the right order
Scope &
Strategy
We talk through your idea, your customer and your money, and challenge what does not hold up. Together we agree the few things to prove first and what to leave until later.
About Scope & StrategySystems &
Solutions
We set up the basic machinery without overbuilding it: a simple way to track leads, money and tasks, a website that explains the offer and habits that are easy to keep when you are busy.

Support
Good habits early save pain later. We help with sensible passwords, access, backups and data protection from the start, and revisit them as you add people, tools and customers.
About Security & SupportQuestions people ask
What should a first time founder do first?
Talk to potential customers about the problem before building anything, and find out whether they would pay to fix it. Then work out the lowest cost way to deliver a first version. Admin and branding can follow. We can help you shape those early conversations.
Do I need a limited company to start a business?
Not necessarily. Many people start as sole traders and incorporate later, and the right choice depends on risk, tax and funding plans. Check GOV.UK and speak to an accountant. We can help you think through the commercial side of the decision.
What funding is available for UK startups?
Options include personal savings, Start Up Loans, grants, angel investment and tax-advantaged schemes such as SEIS and EIS for investors. Availability and rules change, so check GOV.UK and each scheme. We can help you judge which routes suit your stage.
How do I get started with NYAS?
Book a call. We will ask about your idea, what you have tried and what is worrying you. We will tell you honestly whether we can help and what we would look at first. You do not need a polished plan.
