Business growth and scale up support that does not break things

Growth exposes every weak joint in a business at once. We help you find them before they snap, whether you are scaling up, commercialising research or looking at a market beyond your own.

Who this is for

For owners and leaders whose business is starting to work, and who feel the strain: more customers than you can serve well, an opportunity that needs a decision, or an investor or partner asking harder questions. You want to grow on purpose, not by accident.

What tends to wobble when things start to work

  • Growth that outruns the systems

The spreadsheets and inbox rules that suited twelve customers creak at fifty. Errors creep in, nobody trusts the numbers, and the owner becomes the manual workaround.

  • Decisions still routed through you

Every pricing exception, hire and complaint lands on one desk. The business can only move as fast as you can answer, and that has a ceiling.

  • An opportunity with no plan

A research result, an overseas enquiry or a big customer offers a route, but nobody has tested it. You are choosing between ignoring it and betting too much.

  • Cash tied up by growth

New stock, hires and marketing leave your account weeks before the money arrives. Growing fast can leave a profitable business short of cash.

Questions people ask

How do I know if my business is ready to grow?

Look for demand that repeats, margins that hold at higher volume, and work that runs without you on the tools. If growth would mean you doing even more, the foundations probably need attention first. Our scale up readiness page goes through the signs in more detail.

What is the difference between growing and scaling?

Growing usually means revenue rises with costs in step. Scaling means revenue rises faster than costs. The line is rarely clean in practice, and a business can do both at different times. What matters is knowing which one you are paying for.

Do I need funding to grow my business?

Not always. Some businesses grow from cash flow, others need grants, loans or investment, and each carries conditions. Work out what the growth actually costs before choosing. Check current funding options on GOV.UK or with the funder, and take financial advice where needed.

How can NYAS help me plan for growth?

Start with a conversation. Tell us where the business is and what is changing, and we will say plainly what looks like the pressure point and what we would do first. You decide whether to take it further, and nothing is committed on the call.

Talk to us about growth and scale.

You tell us what is going on. We tell you honestly whether we can help, and if we cannot, we will say so.
